Performing Arts At HVPA!

Year 1 have been learning all about Paddington the Bear, The Musical, the brand-new West End production. Through this, pupils are beginning to understand the importance of keeping up with new and current musicals in the performing arts, exploring storytelling, character, and music from a modern stage show.

Year 2 have explored Samba, learning the basic dance style, creating their own partner work, and discovering how to make Brazilian-inspired music using a range of new instruments during music lessons.

Year 3 have been learning all about Hercules in line with their classroom topic. They have learnt a dance to Zero to Hero and have been singing Go the Distance, working on combining singing and dancing together to develop their skills as budding “triple threats”.

Years 4 and 5 have auditioned for an upcoming talent show, developing confidence, performance skills and stage presence. The results will be announced later this week.

Year 6 have begun preparations for Matilda now that the cast has been announced, starting the exciting journey of rehearsals and character development for their final school production. 🎭

Keep up the hard work HVPA, I am over the moon with our progression of the arts!
