At Hampton Vale Primary Academy we provide all children with a variety of compulsory and optional homework to enable them to practise skills and learning completed within school.

Compulsory tasks are set to develop reading fluency, times table fluency and spelling accuracy.

Optional tasks are designed to deepen understanding of the curriculum content taught in class. They are also designed to develop independence, resilience and success from our children.

Homework is designed to repeat learning from the classroom as continued practice. At times,   homework will ask children to apply their learning to a new context. Occasionally, homework may be set asking children to research a new and upcoming topic.
